Wax casting is a 6,500-year-old technique, dating back as far as 4000 BC! If the Vikings were customising their armour with it, what’s stopping you??
Spend the morning/afternoon carving a charm that’s completely unique to you. Whether it’s something specific or wonderfully abstract, you’ll learn how to shape jeweller’s wax into a one of a kind design of your choice. The only limit is your imagination! No experience is needed, I will do my best to help bring any idea to life and be there to guide you along the way.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave your wax carving with me to be professionally cast into solid sterling silver. I’ll then finish it by hand and send your completed charm back to you around 2–3 weeks later, ready to wear and treasure for years to come (woohoo!).

By booking and participating in a M-Jay wax charm making workshop, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Safety & Participant Disclaimer
During this workshop, you will be working with heated wax, open heat sources (such as soldering irons), and sharp carving tools.
Assumption of Risk: You acknowledge that working with hot wax and sharp tools carries inherent risks, including minor burns, scalds, or small cuts.
Safety Rules: You agree to follow all safety instructions provided by the instructor, use the protective equipment provided, and handle tools with care.
Attire: Please wear comfortable clothing made of natural fibers where possible, tie back long hair, and avoid loose or dangling sleeves.
Liability: M-Jay is not liable for any minor injuries, personal accidents, or damage to personal belongings (such as wax spills on clothing) resulting from failure to follow instructions or improper tool handling.
2. Age Requirements
Participants under the age of [16 / 18] must be accompanied by an adult guardian who accepts full responsibility for their safety throughout the session.
3. Casting & Finished Pieces
The workshop covers the sculpting and carving of your wax charm design.
Final casting of your charm into metal (e.g., silver or bronze) and finishing takes place off-site after the workshop.
Turnaround time for finished charms is typically 2–4 weeks. We will notify you when your piece is ready for collection or postage.
Minor variations in texture, weight, or appearance occur naturally during the casting process and are part of the handmade charm of your piece.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
Participant Cancellations: Cancellations made at least 72 hours before the scheduled workshop date are eligible for a full refund or rescheduling. Cancellations made after this time are non-refundable.
Host Cancellations: In the rare event that we need to cancel a session due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule to a future date.
5. Photos & Media
We occasionally take photos and short video clips during workshops for social media and marketing. If you prefer not to be photographed, just let your instructor know at the start of the session!
